If you keep ALC within it’s limit even at 20W the rig won’t heat up.

has anyone come up with a way to turn fan off with radio

Agreed. Made a P2P Winlink connection last Wednesday with KN4LQNfrom OK to VA. I had my power set to 15 watts with the alc at 91. The document size sent was around 1985 so about 17 mins (partly due atmospheric conditions). The fan didn’t even come on.
