In this episode I discuss what is needed to setup your first Allstar node.  Mostly I talk about hardware, and the OS that I am currently using.  Some later episodes will include more permanent nodes and perhaps a setup of the Allstar app from scratch.

  2. I got the image loaded onto a raspberry pi. Would help me out if you did another video on how to set up the information via the Admin menu list on the Raspberry Pi. For example, not sure my Raspberry is still connected via Wifi to home network, can’t seem to change the time zone, etc…….

        Well did manage to figure out some things. Did find out you have to connect the Pi3 via cable first to router, it obtains address etc. Then once that is working, go to the menu and follow instructions to set up the WiFi.
        Still work for me yet, but got a node online, (best I can tell), no radio connected yet…..

        1. I never connected mine to a router, but I think I did interface it to my laptop the first time to do the initial setup.

  3. Great video. The Allmon application you showed, assume it runs on the raspberry? Looking for more detail on how to install and use that, looks like a great tool.

  4. I have watched many of your videos, and I learn allot. YOu mentioned a cheaper radio interface. Can you send me that information. I am totally blind, and I don’t think I would be successful in building an interface. 73 N2DYN
